Does It Come After Mumbai Indians’ Poor Performance in 2024 IPL?
The Ambani couple has owns one of the best-playing IPL Teams – Mumbai Indians for years now. It’s been more than a decade for the family to be engaged with players like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Bumrah. Every time these gem of players have stepped on the ground representing their team, it has always been a treat to the eyes.
Even in a disappointing year like the 2024 IPL, which was a clear failure for Mumbai Indians, Nita Ambani did not resist cheering the team with positivity. Nita, on Mumbai Indians’ poor performance, gave a pep talk to the players saying, “Disappointing season for all of us. Things didn’t go the way we wanted them to, but I’m still a huge Mumbai Indians fan. Not just an owner. I think to wear the Mumbai Indians jersey is a huge honour and a privilege, and to be associated with Mumbai Indians, for me, is an honor and a privilege. I think, we will go back, review and think about it,”.
With motivational lines like these on the team’s loss, it was expected from her or Mukesh Ambani to come forward praising the team’s victory too.
Fans Question Such Behaviour
A pool of questions takes a whirlwind on their silence on this victory. Are Ambanis not happy with India’s win? Is the Ambani couple still not over the Mumbai Indians’ defeat last year? Or are they just dwelling on their son Anant Ambani’s wedding shenanigans a little too much? Lest the answer what may be, this numb reaction of the entire family is highly unacceptable and questions their respect towards Rohit Sharma.
One of Nita’s old candid videos revealed her family’s obsession with the sport. She once said, “It was only Akash and me obsessing about cricket 24*7, 365 and Mukesh would come in sometime, part time but now we have you. Our cricket is not restricted to only Mumbai Indians, we have Mumbai Indians, we have the World Cup and now we have fantasy cricket. We are a cricket-obsessed family.”
Yet, after this silence, it is doubtful if any of them at all is a Cricket lover. Nita’s words come to a halt when they are met with empty reactions to India’s victory. It is disheartening for the team captain, Rohit Sharma as the man, alone, has contributed a lot towards MI, in previous IPL seasons leading to winning 5 trophies in different years.
