In a recent chat with Galatta India, newly weds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal spilled the tea behind their love story and how he was ready to elope with her now wife, Sonakshi Sinha. As the couple tied the knots on June 23rd, this year – Sonakshi recalled the day saying they both awaited that day since long and while she signed, she couldn’t control but just scream out with grace.
Actor Zaheer Iqbal also revealed he was scared to ask Sonakshi’s dad about the marriage. When he first entered the room to have discussion with veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, he was scared and wondered what would he do if Sinha disagrees to their marriage. To his surprise, nothing scary happened and the conversation with Sonakshi’s dad went utter smooth.

Zaheer said that he was ready to “elope” with the Dabangg lady and run to another country to get married. In the recent interview, he said, “I wanted to elope..just bounce to the country and go somewhere, get married and come back; but I got to know that wedding is not valid in India”. Continuing the conversation ahead, thea actress told that after cancelling the plan of running away together, the couple decided upon having an intimate wedding, which she always desired for.
When Zaheer mentioned that he is planning to propose Sona,which was his way to ask him if they could get married or not, Sinha replied with complete affirmation, saying, “Oh, very good.” While Zaheer on one side kept stammering while initiating a conversation, was later pacified with his response.
For the unversed, actors Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha have been a longtime couple before getting married. Their relationship lasted for about 7 years where they formed a special bond while also growing individually in their lives. The couple has also shared screen space together in film Double XL, released in 2022.
