Popularly known for the satirical sitcom, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain – Manmohan Tiwari aka Rohitashv Gour is a prominent actor in the TV industry. Ever since he stepped into the small screen indsutry, he has only gained love from the audience for his excellent performances. From the iconic Mukundilal of Sab TV’s ‘Laapataganj’ to the much-loved ‘Tiwari ji’ who knocks the door of his padosan bhabhi more than his own, his charcaters have always reflected a delightful array of humor. But, witnessing the growth of TV industry and its transformation into a much-known platform so closely, Rohitashv Gour finds producer Ekta Kapoor to be the sole reason behind it.
In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Rohitashv Gour talks about his early-career days and how he started to do TV serials despite beind demanded to leave Mumbai city due to health concerns. No doubt Rohitashv did his debut with a daily-soap drama, ‘Mujhe Chaand Chahiye’ but he received immense fame only after his numerous comedy-genre serials like Chidiya Ghar, Laapataganj, and Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai. On being asked about his thoughts on audience loving comedy-induced dramas becoming a trend, Rohitashv Gour recalled back the time when getting a comedy series hit on the small screen was not at all a cakewalk.
As Rohitashv quotes, “TV indsutry mei jo change ayaa, jabse TV Actors ko STARS ka darjaa milne laga – ye Ekta Kapoor ke wajah se hua”. “It’s because of Ekta’s serials like Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi that caught so much attention of viewers, but when these daily soap dramas also reached its peak level, viewers went on searching for the comic elemen. And the release of shows like Chidiya Ghar and Laapataganj on TV fulfilled their demand righteously”, he added. He also mentioned that the type of content created in these shows were very much similar to the common public’s lifestyle. Viewers could easily relate to the language, and satire used in these serials which is why they find it worth giving a watch.
Rohitashv Gour aka Manmohan Tiwari also expressed his grief on his Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain co-star Deepesh Bhan who played the role of Malkhan from the funny duo of Teeka – Malkhan. He said it was beyond his belief to hear that he was no more and would never be seen working alongwith him next.
