Yasir Hussain, a Pakistani screenwriter, actor, and director, has voiced his criticism of Indian television dramas, describing them as ‘harmful’. Speaking with Something Haute, Yasir also expressed dissatisfaction with Pakistani television dramas and mentioned his reluctance to see his son pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Pakistani Writer Criticises Indian TV Shows
Yasir said that he would not want his son to join the TV industry in Pakistan since according to him it is not a “good industry”. However, later the host claimed that many people from countries like India watch Pakistani shows. To this Yasir then started criticising Indian TV shows.
He said, “India ke paas apna drama dekha hai aapne? Matlab woh nations jinke paas ghatiya quality ka drama hai woh humare drama zaroor dekh rahe hain. Uske alawa kon dekh raha hai aapka drama? Aapka drama sirf wahi log dekh rahe hai jinke paas apna drama behtar nahi hai…India mein toh intehaayi zeher drama hai. Hamara drama unse toh behtar hai isiliye woh dekh rahe hain”.
Yasir Hussain Criticises Pathaan
Yasir has previously criticized Indian content. Last year, he reviewed Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, describing it as a “storyless video game.” On Instagram Stories, he commented, “Agar aap mission impossible 1 bhi dekh chuky hain toh Shah Rukh Khan ki Pathan aap ko aik story less video game se zyada kuch nahi lagy gi (If you have watched Mission Impossible 1, then Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan will feel like nothing more than a storyless video game.)”
Who Is Yasir Hussain?
Yasir is recognized as the host of The After Moon Show on Hum TV. He stepped into the film industry with his debut in the Pakistani movie Karachi Se Lahore (2015), where he also served as the writer under the direction of Wajahat Rauf. Married to TV actor Iqra Aziz, Yasir currently plays the role of an antagonist in the drama serial Baandi.
