Daler Mehendi, famous for making Bhangra, the very form of Punjabi dance a classic nationwide is a big name in the music industry. Known for his epic dancing tunes and making the entire nation swirl on his whopping music, Lehren takes you through an old on-location shoot of his 2001 album’s title song,“Ek Dana”.
Under the supervision of beautiful choreographers Farah Khan and Geeta Kapoor (aka Geeta maa), Daler dances with his heart out, exuding the Bhangra moves wearing confidence on his sleeve. With super-talented kids accompanying him in the background, Lehren recalls you to a glimpse of a short interview conducted with the singer-songwriter Daler Mehendi and video-director Farah Khan.

This long-short interaction reveals the ideology of choosing kids as the background artists over youth individuals. Farah in the interview said, “I wanted to do something different. I did not want it to look like any other video that you would see”. The thought of starring young kids as model during 2001 is surprisingly surreal.

Talking about how she feels on directing the song and the difference between choreographing a film song v/s a music video, Farah claims that directing a music video gives her more freedom to guide the dancers the way she wants to. She feels, that film songs bring with them a boundation to act according to the script, while for a music video she is the boss, she is the director and can change the scenario, outfit, and environment the way she wants to.
