Bollywood actor, Kartik Aaryan gave a few insights on the preparations for his upcoming film, Chandu Champion. During an interview with Anupama Chopra for Film Companion, the Dhamaka (2021) star mentioned that he completely detached himself from being social during the filming of Kabir Khan’s film. He shared how he had to go through intense physical training, a strict diet and a lot of workshops. The actor also mentioned that going completely anti-social was something which he started liking.
Kartik told how it was a “difficult task to leave food” and the diet which he followed was new to him. He mentioned that the food he was then eating was “something which never tasted good.” The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) star went through a transformation journey which turned him into a spiritual human and optimistic though he wasn’t negative earlier and followed the routine for one and a half to two years. He added that he “completely surrendered to the role” and mentioned that he would go to any extent with this kind of film or a character.”
Aaryan also recalled his experience working with Anees Bazmee for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, a 2022 horror-comedy and a spiritual sequel to the original film released in 2007. He said that initially, he needed to increase his strength for the role and while boosting his entry during the filming process, he checked with the director (Bazmee) to find the required balance in his performance.

Chandu Champion is an upcoming biographical sports-drama directed by 83 (83) filmmaker, Kabir Khan. Kartik Aaryan portrays Murlikant Petkar, who is India’s first paralympic sports medalist. His co-stars include Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma and Rajpal Yadav. The film is written by Khan, along with Sudipto Sarkar and Sumit Arora. Sajid Nadidadwala and Kabir co-produce the film under their respective banners Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films.
