YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, is facing severe backlash after a controversial remark on comedian Samay Raina’s talent show, India’s Got Latent. The comment, which many found inappropriate, led to widespread criticism and legal trouble for Allahbadia and other panel members, including Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Makhija, and Samay Raina. Several complaints were lodged against them in Mumbai and Guwahati, leading to a police investigation.

During an interview with Instant Bollywood, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Manoj Bajpayee shared their thoughts on the controversy. Imtiaz Ali, Manoj Bajpayee both felt that immaturity played a role in the situation. Imtiaz said, “I feel people should do what they enjoy doing, but obscenity is a subject that looks bad, and anyone would agree. However, people are immature, so their mistakes should not be taken too seriously.” Manoj Bajpayee echoed this sentiment, adding, “Successful young people should always be aware of their surroundings and understand the environment they are in.”

The controversy erupted when Ranveer Allahbadia, during his appearance on India’s Got Latent, asked a contestant a highly inappropriate question. The clip spread rapidly across social media, triggering massive outrage. Many viewers criticized the show’s format, arguing that it crossed the line of decency. The backlash prompted Assam Police to file a case against Allahbadia and others involved.

In response, Ranveer Allahbadia issued an apology on social media. He posted a video message stating, “I shouldn’t have said what I said. I’m sorry. My comment wasn’t appropriate. It wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to apologize.” Despite his public apology, the legal proceedings are still ongoing, with Mumbai Police reportedly visiting his residence as part of their investigation

While many condemned the comment, some industry figures defended Allahbadia. Rakhi Sawant urged people to forgive him, saying, “It happens sometimes. Let’s move on.” Urfi Javed also voiced concerns over the severity of the backlash, arguing that while the remark was distasteful, legal action might be excessive. On the other hand, television producer Sandiip Sikcand subtly criticized Allahbadia, writing, “True comedy thrives on wit. If it makes you cringe instead of laugh, it’s not comedy, it’s a shortcut.”

With the investigation ongoing, the legal outcome remains uncertain. Imtiaz Ali, Manoj Bajpayee reiterated the importance of responsibility in public platforms. The incident has sparked conversations about the boundaries of humor and the consequences of public statements. Whether this controversy will fade away or have lasting repercussions remains to be seen.
