In a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Vijay Verma was asked if there is truth behind the rumor that he had only Rs.18 left in his account. To this, Verma replied by calling it as his ‘lowest-low’. The Darlings actor said, “Do option the khane ke. Ya to panipuri kha lu 6 ya 8 ayenge rs.12 mei ya rs.13 mei Idli ayegi”. He revealed he was not on talking terms with his father, and had then stopped taking money from house. Because sombeody sparked the rage inside him to stop taking financial help from his house everytime, Verma decided to lead on his own. But after 2-3 months, the money failed to suffice his needs.

There came a time when he did a small role to purposely earn money, and that was when he realised he cannot work with the only intention to earn, but also be into something that he was interested in. Hails from a simple family, Vijay Verma says now he is stable in his life and his family is not at all smitten by the fame and wealth he is surrounded with. Verma also talks about his interests of watches, and shoes and mentioned that he misses the ‘old-relaxed’ time sometimes but he cannot “afford” the laziness anymore.
