While interacting with fans in an event organsied by Filmygyan, Neil narrated the tale of his 20 glorious years in Bollywood. When he was asked about how well he bonded with his New York co-star Katrina Kaif, Neil revealed that the day they met on, they became enemies, and were not at all friendly to each other. “Dushman ban gaye the”. Adding further, Neil said that while they began with the shoot together, Katrina was constantly encountering his opinions, cutting him off in every conversation, that left Neil ask her out if there is any certain issue she holds.
He tells that he later got to know that she had issues with his complexion, and then the way he was performing his role. “Mai soch raha hoon mai aisa kya kar raha hoon, jo theek baith nahi raha. Ek hi line ko 10 baar 25 baar kar raha hoon”,he remarked. Then, the actor said that he went to the film director Madhur Bhandarkar and asked what is the issue with his performance and how could he improve better.

As he went on talking further, Neil Nitin Mukesh mentioned that, “Again, one day, Katrina scolded him after he gave one of his shot, and Neil decided to confront her and understand the actual issue. It was then when he learnt that she wasn’t angry with him when they communicated. Rather, she was nervous because she had mostly done comedy films before New York. He then stated that if that is the case, she should have informed him, as they could together work on it. As a result, they cleared up their misunderstandings and developed a great bond.
