In the glamorous world of Bollywood where parties got glorified on cam and temptations and vices sneaked behind the scenes, the Khurana brothers (Aparshakti and Ayushmann) often stood out in the list of few other renowned celebrities known for their values and disciplines other than their given talent.
In the recent podcast on YouTube channel Cyrus Says… Aparshakti Khurana revealed why he and his brother never smoked or drank in their life. The Jubilee (2023 series on Amazon Prime Video) star mentioned that their father, Mr P. Khurnana, never expected Ayushmann and his brother to inform him where and whose house they were going to after partying. But he never wanted the brothers to smoke or drink and thus warned them regarding the same.
The Luka Chuppi (2019) actor shared the reason why he and his brother never cheated in peer pressure. He said, “I was very scared of my father. To make it worse, he was an astrologer too. He would have instantly known that I was drinking. So, neither of us ever tried drinking or smoking. Once you cross that age and college, the charm (of drinking and smoking) ends.”
Ayushmann’s only heartbreak was losing his father.
Earlier this year, Ayushmann Khurana mentioned in an interview how his father’s demise made him heartbroken for the very first time. The Vicky Donor (2012) star also revealed that it was he only had a heartbreak after his father passed away. The Dream Girl (2019) actor also added, “ I am glad because he trained me to be detached. He trained us to be detached from your work, people and relationship.” Ayushmann also expressed that finding detachment brings happiness to individuals. “People who are detached are generally happy,” the actor said.
Mr P. Khurnana died on 19th May 2023 in Mohali, Chandigarh from a prolonged illness. He was an astrologer and numerologist. Both the brothers, Ayushmann and Aparkshakti often share the memories of their father on their social media, being grateful for his love and guidance.
