Zendaya Scores Three Emmy Nominations For ‘Euphoria’ Season 2

A total of 16 nominations were made for the HBO programme Euphoria, which was picked up for a third season.

JB Smoove and Melissa Fumero unveiled the entire list of nominations for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Tuesday, July 12, and Zendaya received three nominations for her work on Euphoria season 2. The actress, who previously won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Rue, was nominated for the award again, making her the youngest two-time nominee in the category.

She was also nominated twice for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. One is for “Elliot’s Song,” co-written by Labrinth and songwriter Muzhda Zemar-McKenzie, and the other is for “I’m Tired,” co-written by Labrinth and creator Sam Levinson. Zendaya celebrated the nominations on Instagram, saying, “Making this show with this cast and crew of the most incredibly talented people that I get the privilege of learning from every day has been a highlight of my life.”

The actress added, “I’m so proud to work beside you and CONGRATULATIONS! I don’t have the words to express the love and gratitude I feel right now, all I can do is say thank you with all my heart!” The actress added, “Thanks to everyone who connected with our show, it is an honour to share it with you. Thank you @samlev for everything you do, this show is what it is because of your heart, and thank you to @labrinth @marcellrev @hbo @a24 for being the best creative collaborators.”

Zendaya concluded, “Lastly thank you to the @televisionacademy for this incredible acknowledgement. We out here Emmy nominated again y’all!!!” Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows a group of high school kids in the town of East Highland, including Zendaya’s 17-year-old drug addict Rue, through their experiences with identity, and trauma, drugs, family, friendships, love, and s**.

Zendaya is now shooting “Dune: Part Two,” the follow-up to the science fiction adaption by Denis Villeneuve that won six Oscars this year. Alongside Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, who both won Emmys, she will also appear in Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers,” which has been nominated for an Oscar.
