On August 29, Universe unveiled the title and first-look photos for the latest installment in the Jurassic franchise, now named ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’. The film features Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali in leading roles. Directed by Gareth Edwards, ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ is scheduled for release on July 2, 2025.
The initial images from ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ provide a glimpse of the film’s tense atmosphere. One photo shows Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey hiding behind bushes with intense expressions, while another still features Mahershala Ali, who appears scared and holding a fire torch in a dark setting. The anticipation for the film is building with these intriguing first looks.
Unlike previous installments, ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ introduces a new cast, including Luna Blaise, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Audrina Miranda, David Iacono, Philippine Velge, Ed Skrein and Bechir Sylvain. This fourth film in the Jurassic World series is based on a script by David Koepp, who also wrote for the original 1993 Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The new film continues the story created by Michael Crichton’s 1990 science fiction novel of the same name.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the new film explores a world where the planet’s environment has become largely uninhabitable for dinosaurs. Only a few dinosaurs remain, living in specialized biospheres. Three of these creatures are key to developing a life-saving drug, in which, Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert tasked with retrieving the DNA of these dinosaurs. She finds herself trapped on an island with a civilian family. Jonathan Bailey plays Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist and Mahershala Ali portrays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s partner.
The title saw a grand reveal with an exciting caption, “A new era begins. Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic movie now has a name. Get ready for #JurassicWorld Rebirth. Coming to theaters July 2025.”
Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, long-time producers of the Jurassic franchise, are behind ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’. The executive producers include Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer.
‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ will hit theaters on July 2, 2025, nearly three years after the release of Jurassic World Dominion.
