Madonna and Andrew Darnell have allegedly broken up after five months of dating.
Over the weekend the Daily Mail reported that 64 year old pop star has called it quits with Darnell, a model who is 41 years younger than her. The pair dated around five months before breaking up because the 23 year old model has found someone closer to his own age, as per reports. An insider also said it was pretty casual to begin with. “It was only a very casual thing [with Darnell] so she’s not broken-hearted. It’s just that it has come at a bad time,”
The former couple began dating shortly after the end of Madonna’s three-year romance with former backup dancer Ahlamalik Williams, 28.
The breakup has come at a time when the 64-year-old is reportedly facing “a crisis of confidence” after recent criticism of her appearance at the 2023 Grammys. As she appeared on stage to present Kim Petras and Sam Smith with their history-making award, social media commenters quipped about her “new face,” calling it “unrecognizable.”
In response to the backlash, the Grammy winner explained that her face was distorted during the show and looked puffier than it actually was due to a ‘long lens camera.’
‘Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in,’ she wrote on her Instagram Story. She also called out social media users who ignored her words and instead only focused on her appearance.
