Justin Timberlake Arrested With Driving Whilst Intoxicated in New York

The Pop Star Faces Legal Trouble After Driving Incident in Los Angeles

Justin Timberlake, the globally renowned pop star and actor, was arrested Tuesday Morning in New York for driving whilst intoxicated (DWI). The arrest occurred after Timberlake was observed driving erratically, leading authorities to intervene.

The arrest took place in East Hampton, New York and the singer appeared in the court the very next morning. The Friends with Benefits (2011) star was summoned on a count of drunk driving and was released without bail. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the police statement states that the pop singer was “observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel” at 12.35 a.m. on Tuesday.

Timberlake was stopped by a Sag Habour police officer for “operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.” He was immediately arrested and was prosecuted the next morning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Sag Harbor Village Justice Court. The police reports also stated that the Grammy Award winner’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy.” It added, “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”His next appearance in the court will be held on 26th July.

Timberlake, known for his multi-platinum albums and acclaimed roles in films such as The Social Network (2010) and Trolls (2016), has two of his concerts scheduled this weekend and the other two for 25th-26th June. The concerts scheduled for this weekend will be held at the United Centre in Chicago and the next two are set at Madison Square Gardens in New York.

Justin Timberlake came into the spotlight as the lead vocalist in the 1990s boyband NSYNC. In 2002, his solo album, Justified, got him his first solo hits  Cry Me a River and Rock Your Body. Throughout his career, Timberlake released around 167 songs and worked in more than 20 films. The singer and actor recently appeared in the Netflix film, Reptile (2023), directed by Grant Singer. His latest album Everything I Thought I Was released in March of this year through RCA Records.
