2022 has not exactly started like we wanted to! Still, we are holding out hope that this might be the year when everything gets back to normal. And we enjoy some of the big-screen magic. Here are the most anticipated films of 2022.
Scream 5
The upcoming installment of Scream is the fifth film in the Scream franchise. Scream 5 is set 25 years later since the mysterious murderer’s killing rampage shocked the town of Woodsboro, California, a new killer sporting the Ghostface mask emerges, targeting a group of teenagers in an attempt to resurrect secrets of the past.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to watch and unmask the mask as the fifth installment’s tagline already teased, “It’s always someone you know.” The returning cast includes Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette with the addition of new members in the cast, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Dylan Minnette. Scream 5 will hit theaters on January 14.
Marry Me
Marry Me stars Jennifer Lopez alongside Owen Wilson. JLO plays Kat Valdez, a popular singer who marries single dad Charlie Gilbert played by Wilson, on a whim when she finds out her fiancé aka Maluma cheated on her. Marry Me will premiere in theaters on February 11, 2022.
The Batman
It’s been more than two years since Robert Pattinson’s starring as the new caped crusader was announced, and the anticipation has only grown steadily since then on. This time the Riddler is all ready to play a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Batman and Commissioner Gordon in Gotham City. The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4.
Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore
After the Harry Potter franchise came to an end, Potterheads were treated with Fantastic Beast flicks. Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore is the third installment in the franchise and is scheduled to release in theatres on April 15. The plot follows Jude Law’s Professor Albus Dumbledore who is intent on stopping Gellert Grindelwald from taking over the wizarding world.

Avatar 2
Thirteen years after the original Avatar became the highest-grossing movie worldwide, its sequel will finally hit theaters on December 12. While most of the Avatar 2 details have been kept under wraps, we do know that the second installment is set on Pandora approximately 12 years after the first movie.
Avatar 2 will explore the unknown parts of Pandora and focus heavily on the planet’s underwater life, which is where we’ll be introduced to the Metkayina people. The Metkayina are a clan of Pandora natives who live among the reefs and oceans and are the central community of the second film.
