Right after a comment was made by hollywood star Denzel Washington about his recently released film Gladiator II, it became the talk of the town in just no time. Last week, Denzel made headlines when he claimed that he’d filmed a same-gender kiss that didn’t make the final edit of the blockbuster movie, Gladiator 2. But filmmaker Ridley Scott has come out to refute the rumors of the same.

Denzel said, “I actually kissed a man in the film but they took it out. They cut it, I think they got chicken.I kissed a guy full on the lips and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet.”

Clearing the same air, director Ridley Scott has denied agreeing to all these rumors. Speaking to Variety, Scott mentioned, That’s bullshit, They never did.”  The filmmaker adding further said, “They acted the moment [but] it didn’t happen.”  Ridley also highlighted that Washington himself said that no such kiss happened and the media is making it more than what actually happened.

Leading man Paul Mescal previously spoke about another Gladiator II kissing scene that did not make it till the final front. This came about when he gave a certain co-star a peck during a fight sequence. Denzel and Paul Mescal are both already at the centre of plenty of Oscar buzz following their performances in Gladiator II, that had hit the theatres on November 15th.
