Young actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday are all set to share screen space in the upcoming film ‘Gehraiyaan’ along with Deepika Padukone. The promo has already got us excited and we can’t wait to see the freshness they are about to bring to our screens.
But did you know that Siddhanth Chaturvedi once trolled Ananya Panday publically? Well, it happened in 2019, when film critic Rajeev Masand invited a group of debutant actors for Newcomers Roundtable. During the discussion on nepotism, Ananya made a statement that didn’t go well with Siddhant.

Ananya had said, “I have always wanted to be an actor. Just because my dad has been an actor, I will never say no to an opportunity to act. My dad has never been in a Dharma film, he never went on ‘Koffee With Karan’. So, it’s not as easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.”
Hearing the ‘struggle’ story of Ananya, Siddhant said, “Jahaan humaare sapne poore hote hai, waha inke struggle shuru hote hai.”
Soon after the interview went live, the particular clip went viral. Ananya became a target of memes and social media trolling while Siddhant was appreciated for his savage comment.
However, despite all this, Ananya and Siddhant continue to share a good bond and the fact that they did a film after the controversy is proof of their friendship. Ananya even said, “We were laughing about it later. Sid and I are really close. We have no weird thing about this. People made it something bigger and it became meme-worthy. Genuinely my intention wasn’t like what came across.”
Gehraiyaan is a romantic drama film directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Jouska Films. It is scheduled to release on Feb 11, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
