Mega Actor Amitabh Bachchan posted some old photos of himself with the late Dilip Kumar. Amitabh shared a letter Dilip Kumar had written praising him on Instagram on Sunday. In multiple movies, Dilip referred to Amitabh’s work as “world-class and inimitable.” Dilip also praised Black and how he and wife-actor Saira Banu ‘were at a loss for words’ after watching Amitabh’s ‘outstanding performance’.
On Amitabh’s admiration, the letter said. My Dear Amitabh: Saira gave me the printout of your beautiful blog post honoring my work, tears of pride welling up in her eyes. I read it once, then once more, and once more. Additionally, it stated, “Regardless of how hard we may have worked to achieve excellence and perfection, the audience always has the final say in whether they accept or reject our work. Your kind remarks have given me great pleasure in knowing that someone with your level of expertise and knowledge has found value in my work. Yes, now that you’ve brought it to my attention, I do remember the sequences in which we were together in front of the cameras in a movie called Shakti. I should clarify that there is mutual respect and admiration. Not only Shakti, but your work in many movies I’ve seen has been exceptional.
The letter concluded, “I have heard so much about Paa which we didn’t catch up with. You know how Saira is- she never could see me die in my films and she could not muster the courage to see your death scene in Paa. In closing, Dilip Kumar expressed his gratitude to Amitabh for his kind words and well wishes, wishing him, Jaya, and their family all the best.
Black, which was released in 2005, was highly praised for Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan’s performances. With Bachchan winning the National Award for Best Actor, it was hailed as a smash hit and took home the National Award for Best Feature Film.
