Hrithik Roshan starrer Vikram Vedha and Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan were released in the theatres on 30th September. Both films have opened up to a very positive response from the audience. However, just hours after the release both the movies became a target of piracy and were leaked on various online torrent sites.
Vikram Vedha And Ponniyin Selvan Leaked Online
Pushkar-Gayatri’s film Vikram Vedha which is a remake of the Tamil movie starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi had opened up to a positive response from the audience. While many fans praised Hrithik Roshan for his performance in the film, others claimed that the remake is better than the original version.
On the other hand, Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan which is apparently based on a novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy was released in the theatres alongside Vikram Vedha. The magnum opus starred Aishwarya Rai with South actors Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha Krishnan among many others. And just like Vikram Vedha, Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus film PS also received a good response from the audience.
However, both the big-budget films became a target of piracy and were leaked on various torrent websites including Tamilrockers, Movierulz, and others. The issue can indeed be a topic of concern for the makers as it can directly affect the box office figures of the films.
Brahmastra Full Movie Leaked Online
However, this is surely not the first time the films were leaked online just hours after their release. As earlier Ayan Mukerji’s film Brahmastra which featured Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as the leads was also leaked on torrent sites just a few hours after its release. Although the leak doesn’t affect the film at all, as despite the leak the audience still went to the theatres to experience the film in 3d.
Recent Releases Which Got Leaked After Their Release
Earlier Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, Kiccha Sudeep’s film Vikrant Rona and Mohit Suri’s film Ek Villain Returns also got leaked on the very first day of its release. Apart from it, Karan Johar’s film JugJugg Jeeyo, Runway 34 starring Ajay Devgn, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 featuring Kartik Aaryan, and blockbuster hit Pushpa are also some films that became a target of piracy however, the films were leaked later after their release so their box-office collections weren’t affected by it.
