The trailer of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Thank God is out. The film promises to be a laugh riot set in the otherly world. Helmed by veteran director Indra Kumar the family drama features, Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role. The comedy-drama will have a grand release on Diwali, 25th October 2022.
After raising the curtain from the first look of Ajay and Sidharth as Chitragupt and Common Man respectively, the makers have dropped the trailer of the film touted to be a laugh riot. The trailer is set in the court of Chitragupt, who is said to be a record keeper of human deeds in heaven as per Indian mythology. After a car crash, the Shershah actor steps into the court of Chitragupt. Rakul Preet plays the female lead while Nora Fatehi is seen as Apsara in a special song.
The makers shared the trailer of Thank God on social media after the launch. Sharing it on Instagram Ajay wrote, “The season of festivity is all set to start with the game of life, jahan hoga sabke karmon ka hisaab! #ThankGod Trailer out now. In cinemas on 25th October.”
The makers promised this movie to be a unique family film and are confident that it will work in cinemas. Ajay will represent the modern avatar of Chitragupt while Sid will act as a common man. Both will come face to face in the game of life hosted by Chitragupt. It would be fun to see what decision Chitragupt will take for the common man.
Earlier a source close to the development informed, “The makers are confident about their film, which is a social comedy, and they feel that it can work in cinemas. Hence, they decided to unveil the trailer more than a month before the film’s release. The promo will give the audiences an idea about the film and would leave them wanting for more.”
Arriving in theaters on 25th October, Thank God is a rare release. While movies have been releasing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Thank God will hit on big screens on Tuesday. This happened last in 2012, for Son of Sardar coincidently again Ajay Devgn film. Son of Sardar clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Another coincidence is both films were also a Diwali release.
Thank God is directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the banner of TSeries and Maruti International. The family entertainer will be released in cinemas on October 25 and will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu.
Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh both last worked together in Runway 34. This is their third collaboration, previously the duo worked together on De De Pyaar De. Apart from Thank God, Ajay has long-delayed sports drama Maidaan, Drishyam 2, and Bholaa in the pipeline. Rakul was last seen in Cuttputlli. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra has Yodha, and Rohit Shetty’s Police Force in the pipeline.
