Stree 2 Teaser: Tamannaah Bhatia Joins Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Horror Film!

After much anticipation, the teaser for Stree 2 was unveiled on Tuesday. It begins with a towering statue of the infamous ‘Stree’ who terrorized Chanderi in the original film. As hinted at the end of the first movie, the menacing spirit has returned to haunt the town once more. Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee reprise their roles, along with the return of Shraddha Kapoor. The teaser also introduces Tamannaah Bhatia in a surprising appearance.

The teaser suggests that the townspeople will unite once more to confront the spirit of ‘Stree.’ While the film’s plot remains undisclosed, it seems Stree 2 will deliver a continuation of its eerie and compelling tale.

Sharing the teaser on her Instagram handle, Shraddha Kapoor wrote, “Iss baar Chanderi mein azaadi ke din hoga aatank! The legend returns this INDEPENDENCE DAY, 15th August 2024!”. Watch the teaser here!

About Stree 2

Released in 2018, Stree emerged as a major success and one of the standout hits of the year. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film marked the inception of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe.

The film took Hindi cinema by storm with its unique blend of horror and comedy, setting a trend that has since become a staple. The film garnered ₹130 crore at the domestic box office, marking it as Rajkummar Rao’s career-defining blockbuster, a title it still holds six years later.

Subsequently, Maddock Films expanded this universe with films like Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. Among these, Munjya has been the sole box-office success thus far.

Amar Kaushik, the director behind the first Stree, returns to helm Stree 2. Known for his work on the Ayushmann Khurrana-led Bala and the Varun Dhawan-starrer Bhediya, Kaushik continues to carve a niche in the world of engaging and diverse cinema.
