Shah Rukh Khan Wants To Play An Assassin Role In Future Projects

Shah Rukh Khan wants to play an assassin, showing interest in exploring darker roles with a fresh take on villains.

Two months back, Shah Rukh Khan made an appearance at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival. While in the city, he took part in the podcast Locarno Meets, where he shared some of his thoughts on future roles. When King of Romance was asked if there were any roles he still wishes to explore, Shah Rukh Khan wants to play an assassin in one of his upcoming projects. He talked about the variety of characters he has already portrayed but hinted at the appeal of stepping into darker roles once again.

During the podcast, SRK expressed his interest in portraying negative characters again, saying, “I think I have a new way of playing a bad guy.” He reflected on his work in 2023, mentioning that he checked off several action-packed roles from his long-held wishlist, particularly with films like Pathaan and Jawan. Now, Shah Rukh Khan wants to try something different by playing an assassin, a role he believes he could approach with a fresh perspective. His recent performances have shown his skill in playing larger-than-life heroes but the idea of playing a darker character is what excites him currently.

In the same interview, Shah Rukh also shared his thoughts on the acting process. He explained that while many actors get deeply involved in their characters, he tends to keep some distance. “A lot of actors talk to me like, ‘This character won’t say this,’ and I am like, you’re the creator of the character.” For King Kha , it’s all about convincing the audience to believe in the character, even if he doesn’t fully internalize it himself. This approach might be what helps him think outside the box and take on roles like an assassin with a new perspective.

At the 77th Locarno Film Festival, SRK was also honoured with the Pardo alla Carriera (career leopard) award on August 10, 2024. Celebrating his contributions to the global cinema landscape. For now, SRKians are now eagerly awaiting his next big project, King, where he will be working alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan.

In other news, Shah Rukh Khan recently made headlines after skipping the funeral of politician Baba Siddique who was assassinated by the notorious gangster, which spark stir around the internet. Later it was reported that SRK’s absence was to avoid being drawn into any political controversies.
