Rani Mukerji-Anil Kapoor To Reunite For Nayak 2? Here’s What We Know

Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, who shared the screen in the original 2001 film Nayak: The Real Hero, are reportedly reuniting for its sequel after a gap of 23 years. The original movie, known for its compelling narrative and powerful performances, has amassed a devoted following over the years.

According to a source within the production house, the sequel will continue the story from where the first film ended. Mukut, the producer, confirmed this and commented on the pairing of Anil and Rani. Additionally, he mentioned that an official announcement will be made soon. It’s reported that the screenplay is currently being developed, with plans to maintain the roles of both Anil and Rani.

He revealed to Mid-day, “We are planning the sequel and taking the story forward with the [existing] characters. I bought the rights a long time ago from producer AM Rathnam. We are writing the script right now with the leads in mind and [incorporating] other actors too. As soon as the writing is complete, we’ll decide the way ahead. We have a couple of directors in mind, but nobody has been finalized.”

He also noted that they have started initial discussions with Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukerji. Regarding the possibility of introducing new actors in the sequel, he mentioned that it depends on how the characters develop and which actors would be the most appropriate choice for them.
