When Rishi Kapoor announced a few months back that he will be taking a break from work and traveling to the US for ‘some medical treatment’; it sends his fans in a frenzy who were trying to speculate as to what was the veteran actor ailing from.
The actor even missed the last rites of his mother Krishna Raj Kapoor in October; which eventually led to rumors saying that the actor may be suffering from cancer. Yet through all of this, RIshi and his family had kept mum about the ailment that the ‘Bobby’ actor was being treated for.
However, when Neetu Kapoor; the veteran actors wife took to her social media account to wish fans on the New Year eve, he post fuelled the cancer rumors even more. The picture was captioned,” “Happy 2019. No resolutions only wishes this year !!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign !!! No hatred less poverty loads of love togetherness happiness n most imp. Good health.” And that one sentence dropped a manor hint at Kapoor’s sickness and got everyone back home thinking if he was indeed undergoing treatment for cancer is.”
Now, finally breaking his silence and clearing all speculations; Randhir Kapoor who is Rishi Kapoor’s elder brother has said,” “I don’t know much about it but this much I can tell you that [Rishi] is doing well, that’s all.”
When asked about Neetu Kapoor’s post and the rumor mill that’s doing rounds Randhir further said,” “Let people say whatever they want to. That he is doing well is evident from the photos that I, too, have seen. He is having a good time with everyone and have even stepped out to enjoy a good meal with everyone. He will soon be coming back to India. We are looking forward to that right now.”
On the professional front, the Bollywood veteran was last seen in ‘Mulk’ alongside Neena Gupta and Tapsee Pannu.
