Known for her charming onscreen presence, she acted in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bhojpuri and as well as in Punjabi film industry in just her decade-long career. But Bollywood fans remember her most for her role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2000 movie Josh. In a throwback interview with Lehren, Priya Gill recalls slapping Shah Rukh Khan during the filming of Josh and revealed his unexpected reaction.
In the movie, Shah Rukh and Aishwarya played siblings while Priya played SRK’s love interest, and one scene involved Priya Gill slapping Shah Rukh Khan right before the timeless song Apun Bola. Sharing the experience, the actress said, “The most embarrassing thing I did in my entire career was this.”

When asked why did she slap him, she explained, “I had to slap him at the beginning of the song Apun Bola. The director Mansoor said it wasn’t forceful enough – like when an angry girl slaps a boy.” Adding to the pressure while rehearsing the scene Shah Rukh also encouraged her saying, “Hit me, hit me”. Priya said, “I did it. Oh gosh! I will never forget that. It was pin-drop silence completely” and the interesting fact is that she completed the scene in just one take but how did Shah Rukh reacted?
