Amidst all this, many reports now claim that the film distributors are asking for compensation after the film turned out to be a flop.
Makers Of LSC Denies Reports Of Distributors Asking For Compensation
Advait Chandan’s directorial Laal Singh Chaddha opened to mixed reviews. The film was released in theatres on 11 August 2022 and clashed with Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Raksha Bandhan. Apparently, the film opened up with a total of 10-11 cr earning on the release day, however, it later dropped by 40% on its second day. While many were expecting the film to see a hike during the weekend, the film managed to score 10cr during the weekend, and now it stands on a total of Rs 37 crore.
However, recently many reports claimed that the distributors of the film demanded their compensation after the movie fell flat at the box office. Opening up about the same, Viacom 18, which is the production house of the film, has now responded to the rumors calling them nothing but just “baseless speculation”.
In a conversation with ETimes, the COO of Viacom 18, Ajit Andhare said, “There are no external distributors, it’s being distributed by V18Studios, and no money is lost in the first place. The film is still running in theaters both in India and internationally. This is baseless speculation”.
