Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Verdict: Prabhas-Deepika Starrer, “Hit Or Flop”?

Kalki2898ADBoxOffice: Nag Ashwin’s highly-anticipated dystopian science fiction action film, “Kalki 2898 AD” was released in the theatres on 27 June. Starring Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in the lead roles, Kalki 2898 AD opened up to positive reviews from the public and registered a “blockbuster” opening at the box office. Now that the film has completed its first week in theaters, it’s time to determine whether the film is a box office success or failure.

Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 7

Nag Ashwin’s film, Kalki 2898 AD has successfully completed its first week at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned a solid ₹ 95.3 Cr on its opening day domestically. The film witnessed a huge drop on Friday earning ₹ 59.3 Cr. However, the film gained momentum during the weekend earning ₹ 66.2 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 88.2 Cr on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the film experienced a sharp decline in earnings on Monday, minting a total ₹ 34.15 Cr on day 5. The film dropped even further on Tuesday earning ₹ 27.85 Cr. Keeping steady the film earned ₹ 23.2 Cr on Wednesday. As of now, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer “Kalki 2898 AD” stands at a domestic box office total of approx. ₹ 393.4 Cr and a worldwide box office total of approx. Rs 700 Crores.

Made with a reported budget of ₹ 600 crores, Kalki 2898 AD has now become the 3rd biggest Indian opener of all time, beating films like Salaar, KGF 2, Leo, and others. Kalki has also managed to become the second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024 after “Fighter“. Within just one week, Kalki has managed to cross the 400Cr mark domestically and the 700 crore mark globally at the box office, and still counting. The film has also recovered its production cost, which is 600 crores, and is expected to see further growth in the coming weekend. With everything considered, Kalki 2898 AD can easily be deemed as a box office “Blockbuster”.
