The first song of Jug Jugg Jeeyo has been launched today in Chandigarh. The latest grooving dancing song is named ‘The Punjaaban song’. The lead actors of the film Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani were present at the launch in Chandigarh. In this dance number, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli are seen performing Bhangra to the beat of the dhol.
The Punjaaban Song has all the pep to become the new Wedding Anthem. Reportedly the song is a remix of the Pakistani song ‘Nach Punjaban’. The song begins with Varun Dhawan and Manish Paul with Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani and Prajakta Koli with Anil Kapoor’s dance. During the song launch, the whole team came together to perform the hook step. Later Varun and Kiara gave a duet performance while Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor also shook a leg. In ‘The Punjaaban Song’ Kiara and Varun’s chemistry is clearly visible and on the other hand, Neetu is seen sharing a special bond with Anil.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo is directed by Raj Mehta and distributed by Dharma Productions and Viacom 18 Studios. The movie is slated to release on 24th June 2022. The new song for the movie was featured in the trailer that was released last week. Since then the song has generated controversies. The makers are accused of copying the song without due permission.
Abrar Ul Haq, a Pakistani singer holds the rights to the original song Nach Punjaban. After the release of the movie trailer, he tweeted, “I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar.”
Dismissing the claims, music label T-Series released an official statement and wrote in a tweet, “We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song #NachPunjaban released on iTunes on 1st January 2002 & available on Lollywood Classics’ YouTube channel, owned by @1Moviebox, for #JugJuggJeeyo produced by @DharmaMovies.”
T-Series further added: “All due credits shall be included across all platforms when song releases. As represented by Moviebox Records Label the said song copyrights exclusively vest with moviebox only with all valid documents.”
