Playback singer Anurag Maurya has accused actor Gehana Vasisth of using his songs in pornographic films. In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Anurag revealed that Gehana had contacted him to make songs for the projects she was directing.
Anurag told, “In 2020, Gehana Vasisth contacted me and said that she heard my songs and liked them. She then offered me to make songs for her films and web series. When I asked for the details, she told me that the songs would be made for OTT projects. Gehana said that it would be of bold concept and quoted Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji as an example. Then I watched a few videos of Alt Balaji and agreed to Gehana’s proposal.”
Anurag revealed that Gehana used to coordinate with him for everything, be it the briefing or the payment for songs. He told, “The briefings I used to get were similar to any other romantic song involving a couple in a romantic situation. I gave her around 6 songs for her films out of which 5 songs were released on YouTube.”
When asked if he wasn’t told that the songs would be used on the Hotshots app, Anurag told that Gehana had told her but had not revealed the fact that it streams pornographic content. He said that Hotshots YouTube channel had lakhs of subscribers with a good reach amongst the audience.
“When they used to put the song on YouTube, there were no obscene visuals. And I didn’t have the HotShots subscription, so I never knew what and how they were putting my songs in their films or web series,” he added.
Anurag says that he came to know about the whole scenario after Raj Kundra’a arrest when he saw web links of the films made by Hotshots Digital in which his songs have been used.

The singer said, “When Gehana was arrested in February, I was shocked because I have worked with her. But I had not imagined that she would have got arrested for making porn films for Hotshots as I have also associated with them”
Gehana is currently out on bail after spending five months in jail. She denies making porn content and claims that her films are erotica in nature. However, Anurag Maurya has objected to her claims. He said that now when he has received the links of porn sites, he can identify that they are made by Hotshots digital as his songs are playing in the background with his name flashing in the credits for giving the music. Anurag says that he is not bothered about what content they are making, but he is upset about his songs and name being used in them. Anurag admits that it was his mistake to have associated with them and now advises young artists to be more careful.
