Dunki: Amit Roy who was the DOP of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Dunki’ recently left the film due to ‘creative differences’ with the team. Talking about the same Amit Roy recently shared the reason behind leaving the film during which he was seen mentioning the lead actor of the film, Shah Rukh Khan as he said that he wasn’t a factor in his decision. Dunki DOP Amit Roy Talks About Leaving ‘Dunki’ Midway
Dunki’s DOP, Amit Roy, who recently announced that he has quit the film due to ‘creative differences’ with director Rajkumar Hirani, has recently opened up about the reason behind leaving the project midway. As per the reports, Amit was a part of the filming for 19-20 days, during the recent interview he also opened up about the lead actor of the film, Shah Rukh Khan, as he said that Shah Rukh did not interfere when he decided to quit the film.
Talking about Shah Rukh, Amit said, “It was a thing between a director and DOP. SRK is anyway too gentlemanly to get into that relationship. Neither would he have asked Raju Sir to shoot with me, nor would he have had any other opinion on it. He was not a factor in my decision.”
Meanwhile, Talking about his departure from the film, Amit said, “I shot for 19-20 days. I think our sensibilities did not match in terms of creativity. We were not able to come onto the same page, though we tried a lot. It had reached a point where I thought the friction will keep increasing and our relationship will get spoiled. If both of us are not agreeing on the same thing then it will be problematic for the film.”
Amit Roy Starts Working On Ranbir Kapoor Starrer ‘Animal‘
On the other hand, Amit also revealed about working on Ranbir Kapoor’s starrer Animal, he said, “I am shooting Animal with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He is a visionary director. He comes from a Ram Gopal Varma school of filmmaking, so I am enjoying it.” The film also stars ‘Pushpa’ actress Rashmika Mandanna in the lead.
Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’, also stars Taapsee Pannu and, Boman Irani. The film is due for theatrical release on December 22, 2023. It is backed by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Before Dunki, Shah Rukh will be seen in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathaan’ which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and is scheduled to release in theatres on January 25 next year. The actor also has Atlee’s Jawan, which is expected to release on June 2, 2023.
