The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has announced that theaters nationwide will offer substantial discounts on movie tickets on May 31 to celebrate Cinema Lovers Day.
Both multiplexes and single screens are participating in the initiative, with tickets priced at ₹99 across over 4,000 screens nationwide. Participating multiplex chains include PVR Inox, Cinepolis India, Miraj Cinemas, Multa A2, and MovieMax.
This move follows a sluggish first quarter for the film industry in India, where both Hindi and other language films struggled to draw audiences to theaters. Additionally, the ongoing national elections have further dampened ticket sales, exacerbating the challenges faced by the entertainment industry.
How To Buy Movie Tickets For Rs 99?
To purchase tickets at a discounted price, simply use online apps such as BookMyShow, PayTM, or Amazon Pay. Note that the offer excludes premium formats like IMAX and recliners. Additionally, convenience fees and GST are not included in the ₹99 price and will be added during online booking. To avoid these additional charges, you can buy tickets directly at the cinema counter.
Movies In Theatres On 31 May, Cinema Lovers Day
Many Hollywood, Bollywood, and South regional films are currently running in the theatres. The list includes Mr and Mrs Mahi, Savi, Turbo, Gangs Of Godavari, Bhaiyya Ji, Furiosa, Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle, Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan, and more.
