Chandu Champion Box Office Collection Day 1: Lowest Opener For Kartik Aaryan In 10 Years

ChanduChampionBoxOffice: The much-awaited Bollywood biographical sports drama, “Chandu Champion” was finally released in the theatres on 14 June. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role as “Murlikant Petkar”. The film registered positive reviews from critics and moviegoers upon its release. However, despite the good reviews and the buzz, the film made an underwhelming opening at the box office becoming one of the lowest openers of Kartik Aaryan since 2015’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.

As per Sacnilk, Kartik Aaryan starrer Bollywood biographical sports drama, “Chandu Champion” earned approx. ₹ 4.75 Cr on its opening day. This is Kartik Aaryan’s lowest opening since 2015’s “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2,” earning half of last year’s “Satyaprem Ki Katha” (₹8.25 crore) and far less than his post-pandemic hit “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” (₹14.11 crore).

The film’s poor opening continues Kabir Khan’s disappointing streak. His last film, “83” with Ranveer Singh, opened at ₹12.64 crore but was cut short by the pandemic. However, the sports drama is expected to see growth at the box office during the upcoming weekend. If all goes well, Kartik Aaryan’s film could cross the 10-15Cr mark by the end of the weekend.
