Box Office: Kalki 2898 AD Gives Tough Competition To “Sarfira” And “Indian 2”

Nag Ashwin’s film, Kalki 2898 AD was released in the theatres on 27 June. With its theatrical release last month, the film has now almost completed 3 weeks at the box office. However, despite running in the theatres for almost 3 weeks the film is still showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, “Kalki” is proving to be a strong competitor against recently released films like Akshay Kumar starrer “Sarfira” and Kamal Haasan’s film, “Indian 2”.

As per Sacnilk, Prabhas, and Deepika starrer epic dystopian sci-fi action drama, Kalki 2898 AD opened at a whopping ₹ 95.3 Cr. The film concluded its first week with a total box office collection of approx. ₹ 414.85 Cr, the film earned another ₹ 128.5 Cr through its second week at the box office.

The film witnessed further growth during its “third” weekend at the box office, earning ₹ 14.35 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 16.45 Cr on Sunday. Kalki now stands at a domestic box office total of approx. ₹ 580.15 Cr. Meanwhile, the film has already crossed the 1000Cr mark globally.

With its strong growth over the recent weekend, “Kalki 2898 AD” is providing fierce competition to the latest releases, including Akshay Kumar’s “Sarfira” and Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2.” This epic dystopian film is emerging as a significant obstacle for these newcomers, impacting their box office collections.
