Bhumi Pednekar gets her first INTERNATIONAL award at Busan International Film Festival

Bhumi Pednekar flew off to Busan to attend Busan Film Festival as her film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare is competing. She also took home the‘ Face of Asia’ award at the festival.

Bhumi Pednekar who is very busy with the various films in her kitty such as Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bhoot- The Haunted Ship and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare made time to attend the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

Her most recent film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, which also features Konkana Sen Sharma, premiered at the 24th edition of Busan International Film Festival. Celebrations seemed to have doubled for her as she also received a new honour, the Face of Asia. An excited Bhumi even took to her social media to announce the news as she shared a picture of her flaunting her glass trophy, dressed in a gorgeous Reem Acra grey and beige gown. She captioned the image as, “Thank you for this honour – Face Of Asia Busan International Film Festival and Marie Claire mag. This award has only motivated me to work harder.”

On accepting the award, Bhumi said, “I am humbled that my work has resonated with audiences and critics in Busan. It’s my first international win, so I am proud. I have aspired to act in films that have something important to say, and have worked sincerely to deliver convincing performances. I hope to be part of cinema that will be remembered fondly in future.”

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare tells the story of two cousins Dolly and Kitty and their phenomenal story of sisterhood and coming of age. Bhumi will be seen playing the role of a 22-year-old girl who is full of dreams and aspirations. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare was screened at the festival which commenced on Thursday, October 3 and will culminate on October 12.
