Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2: Kabir Khan Drops Hint About The Sequel!

In a recent interview, Bollywood filmmaker Kabir Khan opened up on the possibility of making the sequel of his 2015 film, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".

Reports about the sequel to Salman Khan’s blockbuster film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” have been circulating for some time. Now, filmmaker Kabir Khan has provided insight into the project. Known for delivering game-changing films, Kabir Khan is currently preparing for his upcoming release “Chandu Champion” featuring Kartik Aaryan. In a recent interview, he was asked about the potential sequel to his hit film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” with Salman Khan.

In an interview with Connect Cine, Kabir Khan revealed his plans for Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s sequel and said, “If you ask me abhi kuch hai script ke level pe toh nahi. Ideas hai and there are many interesting ways of taking Bajrangi forward.”.

He also suggested that there is potential for the story to expand in the sequel to “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”. “It could be Adventures of Bajrangi and Chand Nawab, so many ways of taking it forward lekin as of now at a script level hamare pass kuch nahi hai.” 

“Bajrangi Bhaijaan” is a film that delicately portrays interfaith dynamics between two religions. Kabir Khan, discussing the film’s theme, expressed, “I wanted to discuss the Hindu-Muslim issue and in order to bring it all out in the mainstream consciousness, I needed Salman’s superstardom. He also feels strongly about secularism and instantly agreed with the film”.

Released in 2015, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Salman Khan. The film follows a devout follower of Lord Hanuman who undertakes a journey to reunite a mute six-year-old Pakistani girl with her family. It emerged as a massive blockbuster, grossing over Rs 900 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. Additionally, it won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
