Ex-Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on Saturay night, by three strange men. The shocking incident occured in Bandra East, despite given Y-security when Baba Siddique moved out of his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office. This unexpected demise shocked the entire industry as Baba was not just a politician by profession but the man who shared a close bond with Bollywood. Baba Siddique was the reason behind resolving the much known feud between bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.

Who Was Baba Siddique?
Baba Siddique, 66, was a political leader who joined Indian National Congress party right when he was just a teenager. In 1980, he became the general secretary of Mumbai’s Bandra Taluka Youth Congress and was promoted to be a president of the same after two years. Baba always shared a good bond with actor Sunil Dutt who was also part of the Congress party. This connection got him a secured seat from Bandra West as the MLA in 1999. Later, he retained this position for three consecutive terms.
He was known as a prominent Muslim leader in the Congress, and saw a setback in 2014. Despite the loss, Siddique remained active, securing a political win for his son, Zeeshan Siddique, in the 2019 Assembly elections. Recently when the split between Shiv Sena and NCP went noticed, he chose to join the Ajit-Pawar led faction of the NCP in February 2024.

Beyond the political arena, Baba Siddique was very famous amongst Bollywood celebrities. He was known for hosting luxurious iftaar parties where a reunion of the entire industry took place. A similar lavish party hosted by Baba during Eid, back in 2013 made him the peacemaker of the two enemies who finally came on a good note with each other. A dispute between SRK and Salman that happened over a fight on Katrina Kaif’s birthday in 2008 turned to a massive rift between the superstars. Finally, after 5 long years, the actors were brought down together during Eid festival.
While celebrities from the tv and film fraternity continue to pour in their tribute, Salman Khan has reportedly, stopped his Bigg Boss 18’s Weekend Ka Vaar shooting midway to rush to the hospital last night.
