Days after her husband, cricketer KL Rahul, found himself at the center of an IPL controversy, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty posted a cryptic message. Last week, IPL fans were surprised when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjeev Goenka appeared to scold KL Rahul, the team’s captain, after a tough loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). A viral video showed Goenka and Rahul engaged in a heated discussion, leading many to believe that the team owner was reprimanding Rahul.
Despite fan criticism towards Goenka’s behavior, neither Suniel Shetty nor Athiya Shetty have addressed the incident. However, on Monday, Athiya posted on Instagram, sharing a message about finding peace after a tumultuous event. She uploaded an image showing the sun breaking through cloudy skies with the caption, “The calm after the storm.”
While Rahul has not addressed the incident yet, LSG’s assistant coach Lance Klusner offered his perspective on the matter before their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals. The former South African cricketer shared his thoughts on the conversation between the two, stating during the pre-match press conference with PTI, “I see no problem in a robust discussion between two cricket lovers. For us, it is a storm in a teacup. It’s not a big thing for us”.
For the unversed, in 2023, Athiya and Rahul tied the knot after nearly five years of dating. Their wedding, held at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala, was a private affair attended by close friends and family. The couple shared glimpses of their special day on Instagram, publicly announcing their marriage last year.
