Reliance Industrial Chairman Mukesh Ambani has planned an extravagant wedding for his younger son Anant Ambani, who is set to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant on July 12 at NMACC, Bandra. The billionaire has an esteemed guest list, inviting prestigious personalities from around the world. Among them is Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who received a personal invitation from the groom himself. Anant Ambani personally visited the actor’s home to extend the invitation.
However, current news about Akshay testing positive for the deadly Covid-19 virus has left fans in shock. According to India Today reports, the actor, who has been traveling to promote his latest film ‘Sarfira’, has not been feeling well for a few days. As a result, he is likely to skip the most happening event in the country, Anant Ambani’s wedding.
After experiencing symptoms of the virus, Akshay got tested and the results were positive. He is now in isolation and following medication guidance as prescribed by doctors. A source told HT City that Akshay Kumar decided to get tested after some of his upcoming film’s crew members tested positive.
The source said, “The actor tested positive on Friday morning and will end up missing the last leg of promotions, as well as Anant Ambani’s wedding, for which Anant had personally invited him. It’s disappointing, but being the responsible person that Akshay is, he has immediately isolated himself.”
Known for his fitness and energetic personality, Bollywood fitness icon Akshay Kumar’s illness and positive Covid-19 test results are concerning.
‘Sarfira’ recently hit theaters on July 12, 2024, directed by Sudha Kongara. It is an official adaptation of the 2020 Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which starred Surya and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles. The original film also grabbed five National Awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Actor for Surya.
