Liger Exhibitor Bashes Vijay Deverakonda For Mocking Boycott Culture

It seems that the dry spell in the Hindi industry isn’t going anywhere, as after the box office failure of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, and Taapsee Pannu’s film Dobaaraa the recently released sports drama film Liger has now also opened up to disappointing reviews from the audience.

What remained a major reason behind the failure of all these big-budget and mega-starrer films is the ongoing boycott trends. Commenting on the same, a Mumbai exhibitor of Vijay Deverakonda’s film Liger bashed the actor for mocking the viral boycott culture. Responding to the ongoing negative responses Manoj Desai who is an exhibitor of the film claimed that he suffered a huge loss in advance bookings because of Vijay Deverakonda.

In a YouTube video of Filmi Fever, Manoj Desai was seen blaming Vijay Deverakonda for Liger’s failure, he said, “Why are you showing smartness by saying ‘Boycott our movie’? People won’t even watch on OTT. Such behavior of yours has put us in trouble and impacted our advance bookings. Mr. Vijay, you are anaconda not ‘Konda Konda’. You are talking like an anaconda. ‘Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi’, when the time of destruction inches closer, the mind stops working, and you are doing that. anyways, it’s your wish.”

Mentioning Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha he said, “Mr. Vijay, it seems, you have become arrogant, ‘Watch the movie or if you don’t wish to then don’t watch, haven’t you seen its impact? If the audience will not watch, see what Taapsee Pannu, Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar are going through. I had high expectations from the movie, but such statements during the interview have had harsh impacts. One shouldn’t do this and never pay heed to hashtags.”

Vijay Deverakonda On Boycott Trend

Recently, during a promotional event, Vijay addressed the boycott trend and said, “I don’t know exactly what is their issue and what they want. We are correct on our side. We have worked hard for three years to make this cinema. Shouldn’t we release our movies?”

He added, “When we are correct and when we do our dharma, there is no need to listen to anybody and let there be anything coming, we must fight. I have no fear and I know that in complete honesty, we have done it with our hearts. We all are from this country and we know how much we do for our people and country. We are not from that batch who sits in front of computers and tweets.”
