Telegram Messenger adds in-app video editor, 2-step verification

Telegram Messenger announced that it has added an in-app video editor to its platform. The editor will allow users to "enhance video quality" by adjusting parameters, including brightness and saturation. It has also introduced a two-step verification on the platform.

Telegram Messenger has brought in a range of new features and upgrades to its platform. The app which goes big on privacy has added two-step verification to its portfolio. Other than this, some new features include an in-app video editor, animated stickers, speaking GIFs, etc.

Two-step verification

Telegram is known for its privacy and security features. To enhance its security features, the app has now brought in a two-step verification to its portfolio. To enable the two-step verification security lock, users should

–Click on the Privacy and Security option

–Users can then enter a Password and re-enter it following the password hint.

“This feature would be responsible to protect the app data and securing accounts from cloning in future,” Telegram said in a statement.

The two-step authentication, verification is designed to protect the app data and secure accounts from getting cloned in the future.

Once the two-step verification is enabled, users will have to enter password and OTP if they log in from a new device.

Video enhancement, animated stickers, and talking GIFs.

Telegram has also worked on its video making feature. Users who frequently make videos on the platform can now edit or enhance their videos using the in-app video editor. The video enhancement feature will enable users to tweak their videos using two taps. The brightness and saturation of the videos can be adjusted. The videos can also be zoomed-in and doodles can be drawn on them.

Another feature that can be added to these videos is the animated stickers that Telegram has newly introduced.

Animated stickers can be added to photos and can be used as GIFs as well. To enhance the chat experience, Telegram has added speaking GIFs to its features.

Cache memory management

Users can now clear storage from Telegram as per their requirement using the Cache Memory Management tool. To check and clear storage users should:

–Go to settings

–Click on Data and storage

–Storage usage

The storage will be used by segments like Photos, Documents, Music, Voice/ Video messages, Animated stickers, and other files.

Users can delete files depending on how recent they are ranging from three days to forever. According to Telegram, this will only delete unassessed files which can also be re-downloaded later from the Telegram cloud. Users can also clear the local database where texts of cached messages will be compressed to save space on the internal disk.

Further, Telegram has reintroduced flexible chat management folders and new functional animations for a better user experience.
