Sunil Lahri: The On-Screen Laxman Remains Uninvited For Ayodhya Ram Temple’s Inauguration Ceremony

The Ramayan artist reveals that he wasn't invited for the opening ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Temple and believes that the organisers didn't care about Laxman's morality!

The renowned television series ‘Ramayan’, in which actor ‘Sunil Lahri’ portrayed the character of Laxman, has not received an invitation for the grand inauguration of ‘Ayodhya Ram temple’. Although the invite has been sent out to ‘Arun Govil’ and ‘Dipika Chikhlia’ who co-starred with Sunil in Ramayan as ‘Ram’ and ‘Sita’, respectively.

Lahri wondered why he was uninvited to the event, in turn adding that the same didn’t upset him. The artist expressed that if someone has organised a function, one doesn’t need to get invited every time. However, the latter also feels that he would have felt good about getting a chance to be a part of this historic devotional moment.

The Ramayan actor speculated that the organizers mustn’t liked him personally or may not have found his portrayal of Laxman as significant enough to warrant an invitation. Sunil was also surprised that no one from the crew of Ramayan show was invited for the event except Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, the main leads.

Sunil Lahri has also revealed about his experience as Laxman in a previous interview with IANS. “I had no historical references for the role of Laxman when I was filming Ramayan,” he stated. “What little I have accomplished is thanks to Sagar Saab’s (Ramanand Sagar) guidance. He and the television serial’s authors deserve the credit.”

Meanwhile, prominent personalities including ‘Amitabh Bachchan’, ‘Sachin Tendulkar’, ‘Virat Kohli’, ‘Mukesh Ambani’, ‘Gautam Adani’ and ‘Ratan Tata’ have been invited for the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024.
