Sanju Samson’s Coach Feels IPL Will Be Golden Chance For Kerala Star To Book His Place In T20 World Cup Squad

After months of speculations, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finally decided to go ahead with the Indian Premier League (IPL) schedule. The money-spinning league was slated to begin from March 29, 2020, but due to the nationwide lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, it got indefinitely postponed. It was a couple of days back that BCCI announced that IPL 2020 will be played in the UAE this year and the schedule for the same has been confirmed.

Many youngsters have stepped up in their cricketing careers after proving their worth in IPL. Players like Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal Pandya cemented their place in team India with their phenomenal performances in the IPL.

Now, the coach of Sanju Samson, Biju George believes that the Kerala star has a good opportunity to fix his place in the T20 World Cup squad if he outshines in this year’s IPL. Asserting himself, Samson’s coach said that the 25-year old has been consistent with his form in white-ball career and he has been consistent ever in IPL ever since he made his debut.

For the unversed, Sanju Samson will be playing for Rajasthan Royals this year. The fiery batsman has till now played 93 matches in the IPL, and has managed to score 1, 696 runs at an average of 27.61, his highest score being 102 not out.

Samson has been a part of India’s T20 squad for the past couple of months, but he hasn’t got many chances to prove his worth.

Since then, the omission of Samson from playing XI has been a topic of serious criticism. First, Rishabh Pant got the nod in front of Samson, and later KL Rahul started performing well to permanently feature in the white-ball format as the first-choice wicketkeeper.

 However, George believes that every cricketer in the Indian dressing room should be worried because Samson has a knack to producing quality innings the IPL.
