Sadak 2 Actress Arrested In Fake Drug Case In UAE Finally Returns To India After 4 Months

Sadak 2 actress Chrisann Pereira was framed in a drug case by a Mumbai based baker.

Bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira, known for working in films Sadak 2 and Batla House, finally returned to India after four months of horror in UAE. The actress was arrested in Sharjah and spent nearly three weeks in jail.

Chrisann Pereira took a work trip to Sharjah in April where she was framed in a false drug case. Mumbai-based baker Anthony Paul with the help of his associate Rajesh Babhote aka Ravi sent Pereira to Sharjah, UAE carrying drugs in a trophy. Ravi, who posed as a talent consultant, gave a trophy stuffed with drugs to Chrisann and told her that it was a part of props for the audition of an international web-series. When she landed in Sharjah on April 1, she was arrested by the authorities and was taken to the central prison.

After a proper investigation, Chrisann was found not guilty and the Mumbai Police crime branch arrested Anthony Paul and Ravi. According to a report by Hindustan Times, “Paul ran up a heavy debt and a plan of extracting money from families after setting up his unsuspecting victims as drug mules and getting them arrested at Sharjah airport where he would call and give the authorities a tip-off about certain incoming passengers carrying drugs.”

Chrisann’s brother Kevin shared an emotional video of her homecoming on Instagram.

”Chrisann is finally back & reunited with us. I know I had announced in June that she would be back but it took slightly longer and she’s finally back,” he wrote.
