Talk show hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid hand an argument on Good Morning Britain as Morgan went off on a rant about Hollywood actor Hugh Grant’s latest comments on Brexit. In an interview, the Love Actually actor called Brexit a “catastrophe” and said that “the country’s finished”. Piers, clearly, was not pleased about what Grant said about the country which caused him to go on a rant about the actor’s comments, but was stopped by co-host Reid as she claimed Morgan is “obsessed” with Grant and demanded a change of subject.
Susanna briefly described what Hugh said in the interview and was almost about to move on to the next segment of the show when she was interrupted by a still-angry Piers. After describing the interview, Reid began saying, “So we have got some treats for you this morning,” but was interrupted by Morgan who said, “No let’s do a poll, I want to do a poll.” Reid promptly remarked, “No you’re obsessed with Hugh Grant. I don’t want to talk about Hugh Grant anymore.” Piers was clearly taken aback and said, “Susanna’s got a new trick where she dismisses any of my criticisms of people because she says I’m obsessed with all of them.”
“I don’t think I’ve said that before,” Susanna said to the controversial host. “Oh yeah Meghan Markle.” Piers went on another hilarious rant saying, “I can’t talk about anything. I can’t talk about anything in the news anymore because Susanna says I’m obsessed.”
“Weird little creepy…,” Piers said. Susanna responded saying, “Yeah you are a bit.”
Piers seemed to be at a loss for words when he started talking about the actor, “Okay I have a view about Hugh Grant I think he’s awful I can’t deny it. I think he’s an awful human being, I think his behaviour throughout the referendum and through the election was awful.” Susanna surprisingly agreed with her co-host this time.
“His declaration that Britain is over and finished is disgusting frankly,” Piers continued.
Piers didn’t stop there, he even went on to tweet, “Hugh Grant is disgusting. How dare he say Britain is ‘finished’? The only thing that’s ‘finished’ is this stuck-up arrogant twerp’s credibility as any kind of political expert.”
This is not the first time Piers blasted at Hugh, in fact he had previously even told the star to “stick to acting”.
“Well done Hugh, really magical performance. Maybe next time just stick to the acting, stick to the Love Actually reruns. They air this time of year. We can all watch it quite like you. Just don’t talk about something you know nothing about,” Piers had tweeted.
