Paytm invests in Rajkot-based bus ticket booking startup Infinity

Paytm entered the online bus ticketing space in 2015 and currently offers bus tickets across more than 62,000 routes.

One97 Communications, which owns digital payments major Paytm, has invested in Rajkot-based bus ticketing technology startup Infinity Transoft Solutions. It did not disclose the deal value.

Infinity Transoft provides software solutions to bus operators and cargo and logistics companies, to manage ticketing, fleet operations and inventory management.

The company, founded in 2008 by Bhavesh Gadhethariya, offers live vehicle tracking, in-travel entertainment services and ticketing solutions. It works with major bus operators like Prasanna Purple, Orange Travels, Patel Tours andTravels, Neeta Tours and Travel, Shrinath Travel among others.

For its entertainment service, the company offers MagicBox hardware and software solutions which are currently used in around 700 buses in India.

Paytm said the company has captured 45% market share in this segment and has been growing 10 times over the last five years.

“This partnership will help us bolster our payments and ticketing technology solutions for bus operators and enable us to provide a more seamless booking and post booking experience to our growing base of online bus ticketing customers,” said Abhishek Rajan, senior vice president, Paytm.

Through the travel vertical, which is a 300 strong team based out of Bengaluru, Paytm offers ticket booking for 62,000 routes through its integration with more than 2,000 bus operators and major state transport corporations.
