Nick Cannon made it very clear that monogamy is not for him. But seems like all bets are off when it comes to his “dream girl,” Mariah Carey! That’s what he called her on T.I.’s podcast ExpediTIously with Tip T.I. Harris! He first spoke about his aversion to lifelong monogamy, he said, “I think I’ll never be able to be with just one woman again. I did it in marriage, I was very faithful in my marriage. The reason why we split up had nothing to do with infidelity, nothing like that.”
Further talking about his marriage with Mariah from 2008-2014, before his divorce was finalised in 2016, he said, “Once I stepped away from that, I [realized] that construct is not designed for me. I gave it my all. Because even before that, I was like, ‘I don’t believe in marriage.’ But, sh*t, it was Mariah Carey. Whatever she say, I’m with it. If she wanted to say we was going to the moon, I’m like, ‘Let’s go.’ If I’mma marry somebody, I’mma marry her.”
He also stated how he would never be in a relationship again and he will never marry again. But he clarified that he doesn’t “want to have to answer” to anyone and he just wants to be by himself forever. Nick who is already a father of three kids admitted that he would love to have more kids and he also revealed that he is “hopeless romantic” but according to him relationships and mainly marriage is only designed to please women.
T.I further joked about how Nick would want to call her and ask if she’d like to get married again. To which Nick hilariously replied, “If I was to do it again, it would be to her. It would be Mariah.” He also later stated that Mariah will always be “somebody that I love,” and also gushed about the beautiful kids, twins Moroccan and Monroe they share together.
But seems like Mariah is not on the same page as her ex, as she was engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer since 2016 and they split in the same year. She is currently dating her creative director, Bryan Tanaka.
