Mukesh Rishi, a renowned villain in the Bollywood film industry, turns 68 today on April 19. Though he is quite popular for his antagonist roles, he has played some positive and neutral roles. His Inspector Khurshid Khan is one of them. He portrayed the character of a police officer in the Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ released in 2003. As the film was directed by Hrithik’s father, veteran artist Rakesh Roshan, Mukesh Rishi got an opportunity to work with him, and he had one of the best experiences with that director. He lauded the actor, director Rakesh Roshan and, in an exclusive interview with Lehren, called him as the most simple director.
When he was asked about the repo he made with the director, he replied saying being simple is his characteristic. On the sets of Koi Mil Gaya, the Gunda actor found the director a very calm and very easy person. Koi Mil Gaya director always had that point of “Do what is required.” He also talked about his character of Inspector Khan. The Sarfarosh actor followed some of the points: liberty of an inspector, inspector’s approach etc.
Rakesh Roshan doesn’t expect an actor to experiment with the character. If the actor follows what he says, then the take gets finalized immediately. Mukesh Rishi disclosed, “because of his simple approach towards actors, you don’t get that pressure of working with a renowned director.” Rakesh Roshan’s personality reflects this nature and thus freshers get opened up easily and that is a significant quality of Rakesh Roshan, he described. Throughout the process of Koi Mil Gaya, the director kept the entire crew together as he preferred sitting together for lunch or dinner. The 68-year-old actor called himself a director’s actor.
He was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s web series ‘Indian Police Force’ and Jackie Shroff starrer ‘Two Zero One Four’. There are no updates about his upcoming ventures.
