Priyanka Chopra's boarding school journey in young days and Madhu Chopra's take on the same...

In an exclusive interview with Elle, Priyanka Chopra talked about her time at ‘La Martiniere Girls School’ in Lucknow, recalling how her parents left her there and the way she felt abandoned. Even though Priyanka’s family sent her far to the boarding school years ago, the actor still claims dealing with pain due to the same.

Priyanka remarked ”I can still clearly recall the overwhelming sense of abandonment that persisted for a very long time. I was baffled as to why I had been sent away. I also didn’t understand why my mother couldn’t visit as much.”

Chopra was also questioned whether her parents made the choice because of her tantrums or mother Madhu wanted to spend more time with her younger brother Siddharth Chopra. ”My mother didn’t explain her reasons for sending me to boarding school… Maybe because she didn’t fully understand them herself,” she wrote in an excerpt from her memoir Unfinished obtained by Elle at the time.

Recently, ‘Madhu Chopra’ (Priyanka’s mother) shared details about her 1-year-old granddaughter, ‘Malti Marie Chopra Jonas’. PC’s reaction on becoming a first-time Mommy was also discussed by Madhu in an interview with India Today. Speaking on one aspect of Priyanka’s upbringing that she would have changed, she expressed how sending her to boarding school as a young child was “not the best decision of her life.”

Priyanka is “just an absolute superwoman,” Madhu Chopra stated when asked to characterize the actor as a mother. She continued by expressing her regrets about Priyanka’s formative years, saying, ”I wouldn’t have sent her to the boarding school. When I think about it, I still cry and I still feel bad. It was my fault for sending her to a boarding school. Not the wisest choice I’ve ever made.”
