Popular singer Kanika Kapoor has finally been discharged from hospital after recovering from Coronavirus. Kanika had returned from London to Mumbai on March 9 and then traveled to Lucknow and Kanpur. She even attended parties where political leaders and bureaucrats were also present. On March 20, she was admitted to a hospital in Lucknow after she showed symptoms of Coronavirus.
Lucknow Commissioner of Police, Sujeet Pandey confirmed that an FIR was lodged at Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC section 188, 269, 270 on the complaint of Chief Medical Officer, Lucknow. Another senior police officer said that IPC section 188 was for alleged disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant and section 269 for ‘negligent act’ likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life.
The state officials had confirmed that the singer attended three official gatherings and came in contact with several VIPs. BJP MP Dushyant Singh and his mother and former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje are two prominent leaders among several others who came in contact with Kanika Kapoor. She also stayed in a luxurious 5-star hotel and also visited her relatives in Kanpur.
And now when she has recovered and is back home, Lucknow Police will begin the interrogation soon. DCP Central Dinesh Singh revealed that Kanika will be questioned after getting quarantined for 14 days. Meanwhile, people are still criticizing the singer for her careless behavior and escaping the mandatory quarantine.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh government has extended the lockdown till April 30 in 15 districts including Lucknow.
