In Tarri, I Did All The Action Stunts On My Own, Says Lalit Prabhakar

Tarri will arrive in cinemas on February 17.

Actors using body doubles and other safety equipments during the shoot of action scenes is a common practice in filmmaking. With the exception of actors like Jackie Chan, Tom Cruise, very rarely we hear about actors doing all of their stunts.

In a recent interview with Lehren, Lalit Prabhakar who is playing a lead role in his upcoming romantic action drama Tarri, revealed that he performed all the action stunts on his own. “Yes, I performed all the action stunts on my own. We didn’t use any body double or safety cables in this movie. I’m not gonna lie, it was definitely not a cakewalk. It was a tough thing to do, but I believe we have managed to do our best and now the rest is onto the audience”

The actor further revealed that there is also one surprising long single take action scene in the film. “I can’t reveal much about that action sequence but I assure you that you will be completely blown away when you watch that scene. It’s 3 minute long single take action sequence where our main lead runs from open ground to building to various classrooms. It was hectic, but we somehow pulled it off”.

Tarri is one of the rare film from Marathi cinema in this action genre, which is dominated by Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. When asked about exploring this genre Lalit replied, “honestly, someone had to do it. There is a huge Marathi audience eagerly waiting for films in this genre but because we Marathi filmmakers don’t provide them content in this genre, the same Marathi audience resorts to watching dubbed Hindi films from other regional languages. I think it’s high time that we Marathi actors and Marathi filmmakers start working on providing such content to our audience. And I believe if our film becomes a hit at box office, it will definitely inspire other filmmakers and producers to explore this genre even more”.

Tarri also stars Gauri Nalawade, Shashank Shende, Yogesh Dimbale, Shashank Darane, Sneha Joshi, Anil Nagarakar. Written and directed by Mahesh Ravsaheb Kale, Tarri will arrive in cinemas on February 17.
